When to Replace Ignition Coil

About to swap out my stock plug wires with some MSD 8.5mm ones. Was thinking about changing the ignition coil as well. What's the normal "life" of the coil. I have 93K miles and never been replaced. Are the aftermarket ones (Hypertech, MSD) any better then the AC Delco ones?

What about the ignition module? Does that tend to go bad? I changed plugs a few months ago when I added the headers, so now just want to freshen up the rest of the ignition (except optispark....for now), so wonder what your guys experience is with coil and module going bad.

They go bad rarly, and the stock coil is as good as the MSD or accel. I woul not change the coil. I have 155,000 miles on my module and it's still fine. Save the money.


I bought my MSD coil before I knew better.....
