When pulling engine from bottom, do you have to let the freon out of the a/c unit? If so can you just go to a regular GM dealer and get the freon put back in it? How do you let it out of the unit? Detailed instructions would be appreciated.

I removed my A/C system when I went with the A/C delete pulley. You would definitely need to discharge the system when pulling the motor out. I discharged it at the schraeder valve on the A/C line on the passenger side fenderwell. I just used a screwdriver to press the schraeder valve in with a towel around it to block the freon coming out. It was pretty simple, then disconnect the A/C line from the compressor. Thats a little tricky to get at but not too bad. I would take it to any auto repair shop to have the system filled, its not anything special the dealer has to do.

Why dont you just take the manifold off and pull it out through the top? I did that with mine.. No messing with suspension or AC system..

Because im putting engine back in with Lt's on it. Its alot easier this way. Im not going to have to worry about the suspension as long as i strap it down and pick the car up from the front of the frame and not the STB. This is just the way i think it will be easiest when your doing it by yourself.
