When installing the main and rod bearings............

Is there anything I need to do specifically when installing the main and rod bearings or is it literally just cleaning the block/rod surface thouroughly and then setting it in and tightening the bolts?

From: Oklahoma where trees are made of wood.

Use some good assembly lube so it wont dry start, also make sure its in there good before you torque the bolts down (locating tabs)

assembly lube and make sure to not get any on the bottom of the bearing surface. basically anywhere that the bearing come in contact with the block or rod cap etc

clean off the outside of the bearing where it mates to the block surface as well?

Anyone want to reccomend a cleaner to use..........or we talking just some brake cleaner would work great

You can wipe it down, it wont hurt anything. I used barke clean.
Where in Irving do you live. I used tp goto MacAurthur High. We lived on Flintridge Dr, by DFW.
