When doing burnouts...
Re: When doing burnouts...
My car has done one for 2-3 minutes (about 1/4 mile long) while creeping along and keeping it at about 6,000 rpm in 2nd gear. Near the end you could hear some pinging. At that point, it was a good idea to STOP. So, do I think my engine could have been damaged while doing such an EXTREME burnout? Yep. For a normal burnout you'll likely be OK. But, get carried away with anything and you never know what might happen.

Nitrous burnouts are fun too....A4 with 2.73's....in 2nd my tires were doing 89....I was really doing about 5 mph...didn't wanna hold it too long....44 bucks for 120 seconds of fun. I think it's an unwritten rule, gotta come as close to possible to popping your old tires when buying new ones. I don't think I've even changed tires without them going from 2/32 to NASCAR style before I got to the tire place.
