You got it, power starts dropping off around 5200-5300. Top end is definitely where the LT1 does not shine. IMO you are shifting a tad too high. I shift b/w 5600 and 5800. 6000rpm+ you are close to experiencing a little valve float. Back when I first got my car last year I hit the rev limiter a couple of times and a rocker worked loose on me. Just my experience and my $.02.

Your bone stock? Then yes, i would shift around 5700. If you have headers and tuning then i would say 59-6000 is good. There is a basically stock dyno here so you can draw your own conclusions

Its hard to say without having your car Dyno'd. You want to shift so that you are in good power in the next gear while not losing too much from going too high. Once you get a Dyno sheet, it will be much easier to tell,
