Wheel Alignment after LS1 Brake Upgrade

2 of the major suspension shops in town are whining that it'll take too long and its too much of a PITA to do the wheel alignment because they have to guess too much.

WTF?

Is this true. They wanna charge me by the hour instead of a flat rate.

what guessing is involved? No whinning from my shop after i installed mine. We did find a slight bent knuckel that cause the rod end to off by 7 degrees, which = to $220 extra i had to pay to make the upgrade to work.

That doesn't make any sense. Even if you swapped over the entire front end from an LS1, they could still the do the alignment.

I suggest called them back, and avoid mentioning the conversion. They're either stupid, and don't know their ****, or they're trying to rip you off.

PS: I polished the rims, and they're pretty bling bling

Definately don't do hourly. But I wouldn't blame the shop for trying to cover their ***, though. If everything is adjusted identically, then don't mention the swap. Good luck!

Heck I did my upgrade 2 years ago and didn't even bother aligning it. I gave it a real good hard eyeball, and determined that camber was pretty much identical to what it was prior to the change. Toe looked about the same. I drove it for a day and it felt pretty much exactly as it did before. In 2 years I have not seen unusual tire wear.

I think I will go get it done this year though.

Soooooo, the moral of the story is, that there really is no magic involved. It is a straight up alignment, and you may be able to get away with not doing it, it is so simple.
