What's wrong with this timeslip?
I went to the track for the first time today. It was about 85* and humid, I was also running on street tires with 2/32 of tread left. I was running 14.1 to 14.2 and I ran one 14 and one 13.8. I know I need better tires to get my 60ft. times down.
Below is my 14 and 13.8 run:
Reaction: 0.155
60 Foot: 2.226
330 Foot: 6.018
Mid MPH: 78.92
660 Foot: 9.132
990 Foot: 11.743
MPH: 99.29
1/4: 14.092
Reaction:.494
60 Foot: 2.282
330 Foot: 6.083
Mid MPH: 80.77
660 Foot: 9.089
990 Foot: 11.592
MPH: 104.35
1/4: 13.825
Does the 13.8 run look right to you I don't see how I could trap 104 when the rest of the runs I was trapping about 99.3. Also the 13.8 run was my last run of the day with a total of 7 runs.
I would like your opinions on this, me and a friend of mine think the 104 mph trap is a computer glich.

Re: What's wrong with this timeslip?
Maybe that was just a good run, It is weird that your 60ft was pretty constant. The whole time slip looks weird comparing the 2 if they were back to back. You picked up almost 2 mid track MPH as well, your almost a full .10 faster at 660ft, and by 990ft you picked up almost .20. Thats weird, i am not sure how often the computer could make a mistake like that...is it a possibility you got someone else's slip somehow? I mean, at our track...on street night...they are so unorganized they sometimes switch up the slips.

We were only running one lane and everbody else that ran before and after were'nt running anywhere close to these numbers, also my buddy was watching and when I crossed the finish line it came up as 13.825 at 104 mph.
The only thing I did different from all the other runs was I did a burnout.

Re: What's wrong with this timeslip?
This was my first time ever at the track on my first couple of runs I just let off the brake and went. Then I started to launch it at about 1500 rpms. All day I was experimenting launching at different rpms.

I was hoping for a 13.8 considering my mods and never being being at the track before. Maybe I'm just questioning it because I actually got what I was hoping for a 13.8.

I doubt it was an error in the timing equipment since you also picked up MPH in the 1/8 mile. There are a lot of possibilities.. I'll throw a few out here...
You might have made that run with a cooler engine than other runs. Engine temp is important to watch.
If it was cooler out near the end of the day, the resulting cooler air would help to make a little more power.
Head or tail winds will make a difference in ET & MPH. Was the weather changing near the end of the day?
Since you are new at the track it's quite possible on other runs ytou were letting off before the actual finish line. There are usually two stripes at the end of a track 60' apart. The MPH shown on time slips is an average over the last 60'. I knbow it may sound silly but I see a lot of new racers lift at the first stripe or stay in it way past the finish line not knowing exactly where it is

Re: What's wrong with this timeslip?
I did the exact same thing. i ran a bunch of 14s and one 13.9 at a 104 and the others were at 101 and 99 and 102. My car wasn't running up to par though....only every now and then it would run good.

Re: What's wrong with this timeslip?
Probably an error in the timing equipment. You don't just gain 5 mph because you had a good run. Your 1/8 mph is up 1 mph that does not translate to a 5 mph gain in the quarter. Also, it is not normal to pick up 24 mph in the 1/8 with an auto with your mods. If you trapped 83 in the 1/8 I wouldn't doubt the 104 trap.
