What's this wire on passanger side harness?

The harness I'm referring to is on the passanger side. One set of wires is for the O2 sensor, one's for the knock sensor, and the other attaches to the starter. There's another that I snapped by mistake while taking off my headers and I can't tell what it is or what it's suppose to connect to. Please help.

if you have a 96+ OBD2 LT1 it could be your bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor (for the cat)

its a complete PITA to get at ... hope you have small hands!

Include the year of your car in the post.... not all LT1's are the same.

Shoebox has a labeled photo of a 1995 A4 harness. If its a single wire, sounds like the engine ground:

Yes, it's the ground wire. Thanks for your help.

I rerouted that ground wire to a spot on the chassis because it got charred from being too close to the headers. I'm having a strange intermittent misfire now. Could inadequately grounding that wire cause this?

You might want to ground it on the engine to see if that makes a difference. It is a computer ground.

That is a direct ground for the injector driver section in the computer. I'm having a random miss myself, and I'm pretty sure this is my problem. I'l be pulling the harness completely out and going over it in the next few days, so I'll let you know if it's the cure for the miss or not. I would think it is though..

Would it be OK to ground it directly to the negative battery terminal?

Yeah, it's a ground for the PCM.. I found mine burnt (along with the O2 sensor wires and connector) when taking the heads off to freshen them up. But I had no misfire, or any SES lights, or anything. Very odd I guess.
