If the wires go to the starter or relays and then to the starter it looks like it might be one of those "chip" type starter disables.
Where if the chip isn't pluged in the car dosen't start.
If your car starts it was either disabled or rigged to not work.
Maybe I'm wrong though!

Ryanzee is on the right track. I'm almost positive it's a dealer installed "Pro-Lock"...just another anti theft device. My dad had one on his 94 Suburban. Basically you insert a "key" looking thing into the slot on that receptacle pictured. Then it'll let you start the car. Once the car is started you can remove the "key" from the receptacle. The "key" looks almost like an alarm transmiiter. HTHs.
Ditto, looks just like a Pro-Lock setup.
The dealer can make these basically "dead" by inserting the "red" key and starting the car. The "blue" key will start any car on the lot until an owner buys the option and then its coded to a "black" key for the buyer or the dealer inserts the "red" key to disable the unit entirely. These can be used again after they are disabled by inserting a "black" key and starting the car three times. Once coded, only the "black" key will work.
I know all this from my years at a Cadillac dealership as a tech.....

Yep... I've got something very similar to that sitting on the shelf. If it's like mine, it is a type of theft deterrent system. You are supposed to insert a "key" so to speak into it before it'll start. It doesn't look like you have a "key" in there though and you aren't complaining about your car not running so???
the thing on the right is a hookup to the factory pc. the smaller conntctor is for a starter interrupt. it knocks a few bucks off insurance, and is a pain. its useless without the alarm though. it may be the vats bypass module for an aftermarket alarm. do you have keyless entry with a factory alarm, and does the factory alarm still work?
Got one on mine. Mine has a key in it and works as a anti-theft device. Like a kill switch when key is pulled out. Actually works great for those trips to down town LA where some of the best pit crews in the world reside. Car can be on bricks quicker than your 1/4 mi time. And if you leave it long enough they will even steal the bricks back.
Thanks for the answers.
Prolock seems to be the thing, think i have removed a sticker with that name on it.
Havent got any key for it anyway and the previous owner didnt now what it was, so thanks for the help.
and about buying used car, thats the only way to get a camaro 93-97 in sweden beacause the dealers didnt import them as new, my car came from US to Germany and after that to sweden

Hey,
just out of curiosity, what does "Omprogrammerad PCM med LT4 KM" stand for. That "med" sounds like a "with" to me so I was wondering if you meant "Programmed PCM with LT4 KM"?
BTW, nice wheels. Did those come from US, Germany or did you install them? If you did, I'd be curious what car they meant for originally...
