Well, I changed it over to Dexron III yesterday, but I noticed on the bottom of my tranny theres a sticker there that says use Dexron II or equivalent? Whats up with that?

You're fine using Dextron III because it exceeds the specs for Dextron II; plus I don't even know if they make the Dextron II anymore.
Also, the whole fact that there's a sticker on the tranny saying to use the ATF is plenty good enough reason for me. Those T56s are freakin' expensive!

The reason that you use ATF fluid in most newer transmissions is the parts are machined so precise, and the tolerances are so close that you need a lower viscocity lubricant (ATF) to be able to work its way in properly. Most manual fluid is something like 80w90, and is close to the consistency of maple syrup. I have had several of these cars now, and every one I have had I have put Honda ATF Z-1 in. Shifts like butter.
