my cars not starting i was thinking optispark so i got messing around with it and when i push the throttle body lever to open the throttle body and let it spring back it makes a weird noise near the drivers valve cover....like something tumbling almost?

 

tell me its not the camshaft right

 

Describe EXACTLY what happens when you turn the key to start the engine. Does is simply crank, with no sign of starting? ....does it try to start with some stumbles or misfires, but simply not start?

Have youi scanned it for codes?

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

 

It pretty much just cranks over and doesnt seem to fire at all maybe every 15 seconds itll have a slight bump but thats about it. i do smell some gas. it was running fine with misfires the other day. i scanned it for codes got multiple codes po 100, 103, 123, 228, 300

 

i havent checked the fuel pressure yet but i do find the throttle body making that noise when it springs back kind of odd. the guy that towed it and dropped it off at my house said it sounds like a cylinder's not firing... possibly camshaft broke?

 

The 100 and 103 are MAF codes. The 123 is TPS, throttle position sensor code. Are you sure about that 228? According to my manual, the 228 is for diesels.

 

i cleared the codes.. 228 might have been the wrong number i think it was 174 instead. but the rest are correct. this thing will not start.... where should i?
