What's hurting my trap speeds?

Well, I had the car at the strip the other day (before I blew the 2nd tranny) and I ran a 12.4 @ 112.5 on a 1.91 60ft (spinning big time on my nitto dr's). Now I know the et will drop when the 60's drop, but I was expecting my mph to be slightly higher say around 114-116. Here are the things that might be affecting it, but then again, they might not.

Had my 2-3 shift at 69mph (around 5700 rpm's) from when I was testing my old tranny out. The real shift point is at 74 mph (6200 or so rpm's). Could shifting to 3rd too early have hurt my trap speed?

Also, at the very end of the quarter, my car almost felt like it stropped accelerating as if it had run out of injector or something. Apparently, my stock 24 lb injectors aren't really 24 lb because a guy came to look at them and none of the p/n's matched up. They look like they are either 19's or 22's by the p/n he said so I could probably be running out of injector up top and that could hurt trap as well, right?

I also have been lazy and didn't adjust the rr's with the car running, so I'm sure I have a few a little on the tight side but I will fix that as soon as the tranny is in by adjusting them w/ the car running.

Could any of these things be affecting my trap speed, or am I just full of it trying to make excuses for my slow *** car? I'm not proud, so feel free to shoot me down. I just like coming up with some explanation for things when they don't go as I expect. You can always tell me to shut up, fix the car, run it again. Thanks guys...

You should have at least 30#'s on there and a good fuel system to back it up.Such as a Walbro pump...Just my thoughts.

Well 30's are on there now. I guess we'll see what happens next time at the track :-). Any other thoughts, ideas, criticisms?

I know nothing of your heads flow abilities, or the cam you chose, but i would think it would spin higher than 6200? Maybe bump up the shift points by a few mph for the 1-2 and 2-3 and see where the traps go. Tune and re-tune until you find ideal #s

Just a thougt about your tranny. Why not convert to a T400 w/ OD or a 4L80E? Both will last a lot longer than your 4L60E and you can still use it should you go higher than like 400Ft.Lbs or so. I have seen people put 700R4/4L60E behind BBC's and have them built and still not last. It would be cheaper in the long run than having to get the 4L60E rebuilt multiple times. Just my 2 pennies at least.

I'm pretty sure 4L80E's don't fit under the fbody, or at least I remembered hearing that buy maybe I'm mistaken.

TH400 w/ od sounds like a viable solution. I'll have to look into that as far as costs go but honestly I just didn't want to deal w/ all the custom work like tranny crossmembers, torque arm relocation stuff, and all those things. Maybe if it's a relatively easy swap I'll go that route. Thanks for the suggestion. Plus if I went th400, I could use a transbrake as well which sounds fun. :-)
