If you are talking about a stock Z28, a stock V8 Firebird, and a stock TransAm, the TransAm is faster since it has more factory-mods than the other two. The Camaro equivalent of a TransAm is a SS, and a stock V8 Firebird and a Z28 would be the same, since they are essentially the same cars with different body styles.

It's the F-body.

Really, I don't think there is an answer, though I think you will probably get some responses.

I don't think a SS Camaro and a regular T/A are equivelant.

i dont think TA's are equivalent to SS's. i thought i was more like the WS6's and SS's were equals. (note: not all TA's are WS6's!) in the later model lt1's, i understood that WS6's and SS's came with 305hp (later models) and all other f-bodies came with 285hp (again, later model lt1's. earlier w/ 275.) but as to which standard f-body is faster, i think is by the luck of the draw really. correct me if i'm wrong.

Let's just end this one early, please. All V-8 models with the same engine run too close for this to be answered. If any combonation of these vehicles pulls up to one another, it's just going to depend on the driver, and how healthy the engine is running. Period. No really, that's all, now go look at the thread about cut-outs or something.

Actually the Camaro equivalent of a WS6 is a SS. The TA has the same amount of hp as a bone stock Z28...so does the firebird. I would think they are all pretty much equal...even though the TA has more ground effects.

firebird = camaro = v6

trans am/formula = z28 = v8

ws6 trans am/ws6 formula = ss = v8 w/ ram air and suspension done by slp + 17" wheels.
