The opti's are very hard to figure out. I see some that have had them go out several times and some go 250K+. The worst part is if you have a problem, it has several things that it can be and the opti usually is one of them and then a dozen other things that it can be. I have read a lot of posts where it was a simple burnt plug wire, crossed wires, opti connector and on and on that could have been fixed for free or very cheap. The odds two different opti's are both bad is a very long shot but im sure it has happened before.

Sounds like a major running issue. Do you have any codes? There are so many things you can try. I would check the fuel pressure and go from there. Eliminate the cheap and easy things and hope that you find your problem.

im not really sure how to check fuel pressuer are ther gauges i can buy for that, im not sure if im throwing any codes i dont have a check engine light and i dont have a reader...anything else could it be besides fuel...if my coil isnt grounded properly would that cause problems ?

I bought a fuel pressure gauge at the auto parts store for $25. Very nice quality and all you do is plug it into the schrader valve. Then run the hose up through the hood and tape it to the windshield or use the wiper to hold it in place. Then take a drive and watch it as you go through various throttle runs. The same store might have a code reader also and can get you the codes if there are any. They are stored and will show up even if you have no check engine light. As long as you haven't unplugged the battery very recently. I don't think the coil needs a ground.

You don't need to drive the car to check the fuel pressure. You can just turn the key but not start it and see what happens. I had a problem with the fuel pressure going sky high and i got lots of smoke and it sounded and ran like it was on 4 cylinders. You might need to turn it on and off several times to see if the pressure continues to rise. This is one of the most useful tools so even if you think its something else you should have one anyways.
