what's bad, timing advance or retard?

I think I am having a brain fart here, but my car is advancing the timing 20 degrees or so at idle and about 39 at WOT. I am getting 0 degrees of retard, but I can't remember which is bad. Which one is the result of knock?

Knock will cause ignition retard.

right, it should advance timing at WOT, although of course 2 much could be a bad thing, and im new to these engine's, but I think that sounds right on the money.

No retard as the result of knock is good. [edit] rather, I should say, no knock retard is good

Your engine is always going to run at some level of advanced timing. Even when you get knock retard, the timing is still advanced (meaning somewhere BTDC). Clear?

Clear as a bell, lol... Would you all mind taking a look at my datamaster log and seeing if anything seems weird. I did some normal driving and some WOT runs. Just let me know what you all think. I had an injector DC at 104.2% on the last run, but according to injuneer it is a misconception in the program and it doesn't always mean that the injector is running at 104%DC. Not sure really what he means.

Anyway, here is the log file. Thanks for looking...

I glanced at it last night and it seemed like there were some erratic readings-things jumping around and such. I will look again when I get a little time.

thanks. I noticed that it seemed a little erratic as well. But everything seems fine. Car pulls real well throughout the RPMs.
