Whatever to do with ~$1000

Well its been a long time since I've done something other than routine maintenance on my Camaro. But now that I have saved up some money I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'll post my thoughts:

A) Exhaust
Get longtube headers, creating a dual exhaust but I would likely need mufflers (with cutouts I'd imagine)

B) Nitrous
Setting up a nitrous system could be wonderful. But, I don't know much about nitrous, and would probably have to pay to have it installed.

C) Save
Continue saving and eventually do a rebuild and consider forced induction.

Currently I have the following:
Shorty Headers
1.6 RR's and valve springs and lifters to accommodate them
3.42 gears
CAI
Tuned by PCM4LESS

Comp Cams 304 (210/220 @ 0.50) (266/276 seat to seat)
Intake lift 0.533in Exhaust 0.544in

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you really want your camaro to wake up install a set of 4.10 gears...world of difference from the 3.42's

Well considering your an a4, a bigger converter would really wake things up. Anywhere from 2800-3600 rpm would work. I dont know enough about a4 trans's and converters to tell you which would be the best but i know one would help you out a ton.

Pick up a good converter, a trans cooler, and a set of dr's. Those alone should knock off a half second off your times.

If you dont wana go that route and want power:
Ele. waterpump 150
E cutout 200
Crank pulley 100
52mm tb 300

Should give you another 15-20hp. And thats only 750. Than pick up sub frame connectors and lca's for some better use of the hp your making.

I wouldnt do the LT's unless your going to go all out, buy or build a true dual setup. I dont think it would be worth the time and money it will require.

N20, pick up a brand X (made by n2o outlet) or dyno tune kit. They are both 400 new, than after your add ons and safety items your around 750,800. Than just do an e cutout with it. Prepare your trans though. I think a stock one is only good a 100 shot. Again, not an a4 guy so not 100% sure.

get an oem torque converter off an s10 with the v6. supposed to be a higher stall converter, and they're relatively cheap...

and you can still afford nos as well...yay.

Do the long tubes. Then you can sell the shorties and make up some of the cost.

But definately a stall. Night and day difference.

Exhaust - longtubes, duals dumped, and cheap Summit Bullet mufflers could be done for around $600. $400 left for a converter.

Nitrous by far is the best bang for your buck

My planned nitrous setup is $660.

FPSS $50
Mallory 685 $250
Plugs $10
basic kit $350

Do that and either suspension or rims/DRs.

I completely forgot about the possibility of a torque converter. That's quite a bit of work, but could very well be worth it.

Nitrous is clearly the best bang for the buck, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet.

Instant gratification vs long term gratification...
