What is your oil consumption like?

I'm curious as to what other LT1 owners get as far as oil consumption goes.

Even though my LT1 has a slight case of the dreaded intake manifold leak, I only lose about one quart of oil every 6000 to 8000 miles! Not bad at all, especially when I read about how many LS1 owners are using a quart every 2-3k. I figure if I get around to getting this leak fixed sometime, I may end up using less than a 1/4qt every 6000 miles!

When I knew the stocker was coming apart for the stroker rebuild, I let it go almost 6K miles. The oil was down about 1/2 Qt by then. Engine had 65K miles on it at the time.

Mine is down about 1/4qt every time I change the oil (3500k-4000k miles; synthetic) and I have almost 94k on the ODO.

My LT1 has been EXTREMELY reliable since zero miles on the ODO, which is the reason I'm having trouble convincing myself to crack it open and do the LT4 hot cam kit and ED timing set.

Lucky so far-----

My 97 A4 2.73 Anniv. , knock on wood, has used almost nil on 5W30 and 10W30 Mobil1. Have no intake leaks (yet!!- lucky) but valve covers started leaking not long after putting in synthetic- this must be typical?

Oil consumption??? What's that? Seriously, my 107K 93 LT1 burns nothing that I've noticed. Other than leaking. But even no leaks now with the top end rebuild.

I can't tell any loss at 3k mi. Right b4 my cam install i pushed it closer to 4k cause i couldn't see myself changin the oil just to drain it, no measureable loss there either.

I have 100k miles, new valve seals, and original short block. The level does not drop at all between oil changes (3000 mile interval) Amazing engines.
