what is wrong with my car
i recently got a code p0100 and now my car is running really rough i put my car into 6th gear and the whole car was shaking really bad. the p0100 code just came on when i put my new headers on. could something else be wrong. like a lose egr fitting? i reset the code and as soon as i cranked it up it comes right back on. wtf!!!
thaks for the reply but i cant seem to find any more info, all the plug wires were fine my car is running rough in all the gears but expecially in 6th at low rpms i tried unhooking the maf while running an it ran exactly the same does that meen the maf is bad?

It would be unusual for that code to show up after headers. Is it possible you got:
P0300 = Engine misfire detected
If you are getting P0100, check for +12V on the pink wire on the MAF harness connector.
ok the spark plug was missfiring., and also a fuse was blown for the maf now it keeps blowing a fuse could it be that maybe i crossed a wire on my o2 sensors while hooking them up? that fuse runs the maf heated o2 sensor and also the skip shift sensor

Since you have a 96, the four (4) wire O2 sensors each have a heater circuit. I have had a heater circuit short on one (1) of the four (4) O2 sensors which can blow the MAF fuse (all wired to same power source). This happened to me, and, was difficult to troubleshoot. I ended up cutting the O2 heater wire which was shorted. Usually a digital meter (set to ring continuity) will not find this problem due to the O2 heater circuit low resistance. I still use the O2 sensor (front right bank for me) with the hearter wire cut. Why gm wired the circuit that way is a mystery. I have since rewired it different. Hope this helps. B.
Check the engine harness which runs near the passenger's side header. It's possible the new headers have melted some of these wires causing your problem.
This happened on my buddies '97 SS, and he ended up having to cut and extend each wire in the harness to reroute them away from the header.
Good luck,
Thomas.

i found that my o2 sensor simulator was melted so i thought i found the problem but when i un-hooked the simulator and replaced the fuse and started it up there goes the fuse again! could it be blowing because nothing is hooked up to my o2 senjsor connector? or is there another problem???

If it is the rear connector, check the wires as they could also have melted.
Thomas.
no it was pinned up on the passanger side close to the headers (someone else did it) but none of the wires are melted they are all perfect. could nothing being pluged into the outlet cause it to pop the fuse?
