What wheel/slick combo can I run
What wheel/slick combo can I run
Hey guys. I would like to get a set of wheels (15") and some 26" tall slicks. The only catch is, I would like to run these slicks AND wheels on both my third and fourth gen if possible. Does anyone know of an offset that would allow me to do both even if I have to run a small spacer on the third gen and some new studs. I would not mind doing that.
I would like to get 1.70ish 60-foots if possible. So what do you guys think. All my mods are in my sig. Thanks.

Since there is a 1.5" difference in the backspace requirements between a 3rd Gen and a 4th Gen, you are going to have a hard time coming up with a "one size fits all" wheel. A 26x10.5-15 will fit on an 8" wide rim. A 4th Gen needs a 5.5"BS on that rim. Put those on a 3rd Gen, and the wheel move 1.5" deeper into the wheel well.... instead of the wheel/tire edge being "flush" with the outside of the fended line, as it will be on the 4th Gen, the outer edge of the wheel/tire will be buried 1.5" deep in the sheel well. Whether you could live with that on a 3rd Gen is determined by the exact shape/spacing of the inner fender, and I don't know what that is on a 3rd Gen.
I would be very hesitant to use a "spacer" on a rdag wheel with slicks.... you might want to check the thread on "Advanced Tech" regarding the problems with wheel spacers. You would need the billet spacers that bolt to the stock studs, then they have a new set of studs for the wheels to bolt on. Scares me.
