Hey guys I just need to know what the best valve spring there is for the cc305 and i also have 1.6 rr's. I want to be able to use as many of the stock parts as possible with the springs bc the rest of my valve train is practically brand new with the rebuild.

 

Anyone have any ideas??

 

I used the Combination Motorsports EX-612's and they worked great!

 

I ran the Crane 10308 spring kit with my CC305. I ran the K-motion K800s with my GM 847. Either will work. The 10308 springs are good to .600" lift while the K800s are good to .700.

combination motorsports ex 612 is the way i would go

 

i just put the cc305 cam in my car last winter with 1.6rr's and i used the comp 986-16's that is what comp recomended. does that sound right?

 

FWIW that is what I would use. They should definitely work fine with that cam.

 

The 986's i believe will work. As i believe they are good to .600 lift. I don't really feel like looking up the specs but i believe they are similar to the 987's and are good to .600. I also believe though that they would need the seats ground to fit his stock heads. Not a big deal but i think the seats have to be ground to fit, once again i'm to lazy to look at the specs.

 

well i am currently running the 986's with stock heads and i did not have to grind on them. anything bigger and i think you would have to because the are a close fit. i did have to do some shiming though.

 

mine will work with that cam. I've even tried it before
