What is the tube for on the SLP intake?
What is the tube for on the SLP intake?
I have a 1995 LT1 with a SLP intake and I just noticed the other day that it has a tube with nothing plugged into it. I know this is an easy question but I couldn't find the answer. I have no air and egr so I figured something from that system plugs in there. I just want to know what is supposed to go in there and what are some common things I could plug it with. Also does having nothing in the hole greatly affect performance? Thanks
Re: What is the tube for on the SLP intake?
Does it look like a 5/8" connection for a hose? If so, that's where the AIR pump air supply connects. You would need a 5/8" vacuum cap to close it off. Leaving the hole uncovered allows unfilterd, hot air from the engine compartment to enter your intake.
Re: What is the tube for on the SLP intake?
Yeah it could only be for a hose because the tube has no threads. Do you know where I could get a 5/8" vacuum cap? Maybe a hardware store of some sort.
