What Tranny Do I Replace it with????

My automatic transmission has two cracks on the belhousing or whatever it is called and I do not think it is going to hold much longer. What do you all recommend that I do?
A few possible options right now.

1.)Order brand new 4l60e tansmission from dealer ($1400+Labor)

2.)Rebuild($??+labor)

3.)Whatever other transmission you all recommend

Depends on what you wanna do to the car in the future as far as performance. For the price of a new tranny you can get a beefed up one from Speedinc. And rebuilds, to me, are crap. UNLESS you get someone who can do a damn good job. I had an A4 on my old 98 T/A rebuilt 3 times by 2 different people. I say go with a new beefed up one. What could it hurt, besides the wallet?

Do you have some power at the motor or is it stock? If you got the power there, checkout "LT1DAVE.com" He has 3-4 stages of transmissions you can choose from. I have read nothing but positive on his transmissions on here. A brand new one from the factory doesn't sound like a bad idea.... 3yr. 36,000 mile warranty is offered with it as well. I would see if they could beef it up though if you choose to go through the dealer.
