What sort of Heads to match Hot Cam
What sort of Heads to match Hot Cam
I understand the the hot cam is not the "hottest" cam available, but I like it and it suits my purposes. I also understand that a heads flow charcteristics can and should be optimized to work with a specific cam. So, I wondering what sort of head work would I need to have done to get the most out of the cam, while remaining emmissions legal? What kinds of flow numbers etc should those heads produce? What kind of power/torque increase would this sort of work yield? I need some education here.
Re: What sort of Heads to match Hot Cam
the hot cam works pretty well on the stock heads, porting will allways help though. You don't see many people runing ported heads with the hot cam too much as if your going to put work into the heads you will usally go with a bigger cam to take advantage of more flow. Look into the "LE1" head/cam package. http://www.eportworks.com/ The cam is simular to the hot cam and will make 370-390 rwhp with supporting mods.

Good info. Thanks for the link. LE would refer to Lloyd Elliot I assume. I've heard good things about him. The LE1 kit sounds about right for me.
Now does anyone know of a good balanced rotating assembly to go with that?

You can buy a shortblock all assembled from ls1speed.com for under 3k for a 355 or a little over 3k for a 383. Otherwise I would look to find the best deal. Try combination motorsports, thunder racing, summit, etc.
