What should i put in my trans
. I have a 96 camaro with a 6 speed manual. Do i put in trans fluid or gear oil? and what should i got with to make it shift a little nicer...... b&M, red line? Thanks guys

The T56 uses auto trans fluid or ATF. Yes ATF. Some good brands you could use are Mobil 1 synthetic ATF, or Honda ATF (yes Honda!) and I think Redline makes an ATF also. They list Dexron III only on the trans but many people use these others without a problem. I've been using Mobil 1 ATF in mine for about 20k miles and it works great.

Your Transmission ( T56 ) uses Automatic Transmission Fluid, Dexron 3 is fine, I also Do Not recommend Synthetic, I have noticed that when I switched to Synthetic Transmission Fluid that my shifts felt kind of " delayed when cold " ( I could feel that it took the syn's longer to stop the gear ) More then likely because the syn fluid is more " slippery", now, after it was warm there was only a slight difference, both will work, this is just from my experience at the shop and in my own vehicle.......Either will work .... GFYI, they come from the factory with Non Synthetic Fluid
