Re: What should I look for with datamaster on my car?

Check DTCs, and drive the car fully warmed up over all load and rpm ranges. Check for knock retard, and look at the BLMs while the PCM is in learn mode (obviously won't be in PE). IAC at idle is also good to check. Battery voltage and TPS (check at ignition off for TPS) should be checked as well. Look at the MAP sensor at idle to check for idle vacuum. A stock M6 car should probably pull between 30 and 35kPa at idle.

Just opened datamaster up and the additional things come to mind:
On a modified car, you want to make sure injector DC stays below 100% at high rpms/load. If you're getting a stumble, or whatever your problem is, try to correlate it to what's happening in datamaster. For instance, my car studders on light acceleration. I noticed EGR goes to 100% DC during this, so I turned off EGR in the PCM and bingo, no more studders (I will replace EGR).

You might find some ideas on what to look for, and what some of the data means by reviewing my online scanner writeup:

Injuneer,

I read through your page and I noticed you question the spark table you have there. I have Tunercat and can get you the factory spark tables for my 95 Z28 if you are interested.

I think that is the stock one I got from Brent Franker..... but its only the table up to 4,000rpm.

If you want to send me the full table, I'll replace the one I have in there now.

Injuneer,

Sorry I took so long to respond. Today at work I was going through all the threads I've posted in to check for replies and I found this. I should probably enable e-mail notification.

Anyway, as promised, here are my stock 95 Z28 timing tables, formatted in the TunerCat fashion, which I prefer (MAP on the X axis, RPM on the Y axis):
