what should i have my rev limiter set at?

Hey guys i am putting in a new cam and i am having my computer reprogrammed. I was just wondering what you guys think i shoild set the rev limiter at?

Mods:
xe 224/230
stock heads
1.6 roller rockers
shortie headers
3" catback
ram air
3.73's

I was thinking to have it set at 6500 rpm and shift at 6200 rpm.
does that sound good?

thanks
Tom

What kind of springs are you running? Just asking because you want to avoid valve float.

I am running combination motorsporst springs. I think they are the 612's. they told me that they were good up to .600 lift.

thanks

i dont think that cam will make power to to 6500 i know the 230 236 on a 112 falls on its face a 6200.

so i think that cam will make its peak at 6000 or so. and ther no sence in spining it any faster than youhave to. i would set it 200 rpms past the peak. but thats just me. need to dyno it and find out where exaccly it makes peaks

Ed Wright (Fastchip) set mine at 6800rpm. I don't bring it up that high, but that's where it is!!!

I went with 6400 with a 230/236-112. That's with Comp 987 dual springs on ported heads with a totally stock 75k bottom end. The car does not fall on its face at 6200, but maybe that's the ported heads. The horsepower curve levels off or slightly drops, but I get the feeling it would pull solidly upwards of 7,000 rpm.
