What RPM can I run this cam too?
It's a Crane Compucam 104227 210/224. Advertised duration 272/286, value float at 6500 Rpm. The listing says it makes power from 2K to 6k, so this may be a dumb question, but can I run it up to that Rpm or should I give it some space? My stock shift points are 1-2 5700/ 2-3 5700/ 3-4 5500. Would moving them up to the max Rpm of the cam for each gear be benefical, or are there variabiles to each gears shift piont? Any thoughts would be appericated, thanks.

What made you choose that cam for a camaro? Its a fairly small cam, and I'm in the process of installing it in my 96 Impala with home ported aluminium heads.
The maximum rpm depends on other variables such as valve train mass and springs. I remember reading in Auto Math that a rule of thumb is to shift 10% higher than the max power of the cam so that it doesn't loose much power in the second gear.

Well, It's really hard to see exactly where a cam stops making power unless ur on the dyno.
My guess would be that u should spin it to about 6000 to 6100 RPM. My guess is that it won't make much power after that.
