what programer should i buy?

Tech Question.....Can you do the same thing with a Tech II ($30,000 GM scan tool) that you could do with any other programers on the market? The reason I ask is, I have an uncle (ASE cert/ GM Master-Tech) who has one of these fancy scan tools. Can I do a form of a "Power Program" with this? Like lean out the mixture under WOT to lets say to 11.5:1or 12:1?? I'm out of the country right now....Just figured I'd ask. Thanx

Scanners like this are only for scanning, you can't program with them.

if you know what youre doing they have programs like LT1_edit that let you atually tune the car, but if you want a tune like a hypertech programmer or something, then i would definately go to madz28 or pcmforless... i just installed my madz28 obdI conversion and the difference in the way the car feels, basically bone stock, was unreal
