The cam will peak at 5800-6000 rpms I know thats what it did in my car. But my 230/236 cam had +4 deg adv gound in it. Not sure if yours is. I had a surg with mine at 2500rpms.

I had surge with mine but you can tune it out. Retard the spark timing some below 2k. I can drive mine as low as 1500 rpm at 15mph. Powerband is about 3500 - 6200.

ditto here man with the small amount of surge below 2000RPM. I also noticed a tiny bit of low end loss, but this cam rips ya back pretty good from 3500 to 6200.

Re: what is the powerband on the cc230/236

I have a question for those of you running the 230/236. I am having issues with the car at low rpm which I was told was cam surge, but I'm not sure if this is normal. I would appreciate your help.

The car idles nice and smooth at 850 and above 2000 rpm it drives fine, however when I go from a stop, if I just let out the clutch the car really bogs down (rpm's drop to 400-500) and so I have to give it the right amount of gas to keep it alive. Also, when I'm just cruising around say at 1400-1600 rpm at low speeds, the car shakes back and forth I think it feels like a stumble. Is this all normal? I guess I'm getting used to it and so I just shift a bit higher and use the clutch more when driving at low speeds, but I was just wondering if it was normal or if it can be corrected. btw the car has a PCMforless tune.

Also I would like to know how high those of you who have stock bottom ends have spun the cam and how high is it safe to rev to in your opinion? I haven't really taken it that high yet as I still have only put about 700 miles on the new top end, but I want to be safe.

If you could go to a 3400-3600 stall, you would be right there with that cam. You are talking about a pretty good amount of duration for a 350 - especially with ported heads. Get the higher stall and you should put the engine right where it needs to be.
