what pound injectors do I need?
what pound injectors do I need?
I was wondering what pound injectors would be needed for what I have now (mods in sig) and if those would work if I put on heads.
also, what if I were to add a 150 shot?
thanks for advice

Re: what pound injectors do I need?
if you were staying all motor than some 30 would be fine. But b/c your thinking about putting the bottle on her, if you run a dry shot then I would put sme 36's in. If going with a wet kit Id stick with the 30's
Re: what pound injectors do I need?
With just a cam (don't see heads in the list) you should be fine with the stock 24#/HR injectors.
Even a dry system doesn't necessarily need larger injectors.... the typical dry kit for the LT1 raises the fuel pressure to get extra flow when you spray. However, the stock RP ball and seat injectors do not like to be operated at higher pressures.

I'm pushing 430 RWHP n/a and the 30#ers are close to 90 percent duty cycle at 6800 rpm.
Re: what pound injectors do I need?
I ran 30's with my 150 dry shot and full head and cam setup. But the 30's were Ford SVO's. You can risk a lock up with the stockers. I never had any problems leaning out with the 30's even when spraying, although i'm sure I was pushing them when spraying. But since your only pushing them on the spray, I didn't think that it was that bad. But, if your thinking of going with more mods in the future above a 150 shot, i'd consider going bigger injectors now and just tune them for your current setup. Like 36'ers or maybe even 42's. I'm running 36'ers in my setup now, but would like to up to 42's.

Re: what pound injectors do I need?
I am getting LE2 heads later this month, and hope to eventually make it a 355,383,396 (one of them) turboed w/ low low compression.
that is why I wanted to upgrade the fuel, was so when I stroke it I will still be able to run good N/A and w/ the bottle... I should have posted this first, sorry.
so w/ the stroker and turbo?
I see that a 30lb will work perfect hopefully until I get the stroker? (w/out the bottle, I am thinking wet shot)
rogue, your running probably what, 500rwhp+? and you are using 36s? hmmm
that makes me feel like w/ a stroker I could go w/ 36s, but w/ turbo I will need at least 42+
I also was wondering if 90 octane (yes, its best in lubbock,TX at pumps) was going to be enough for the stroker or the stroker w/ turbo or neither.
thanks again

Re: what pound injectors do I need?
You can only get 90 octane because of the elevation at Lubbock... search shows it as 3,300-ft. As elevation goes up, octane requirement goes down. Running NA, you will be fine with 90 octane, as long as you don't go nuts with the (dynamic) compression ratio. Ultimately, you can run more boost to make up for the low air density, and 90 octane might be a problem. You would need to look at alcohol/water injection.
