What a pleasant $20 spent

So for the past few days i've gone to war with my A/C. The previous owner had pretty much deleted it, and myself going to statesboro GA for college i needed a/c. So i got everything hooked back up and no air was coming out of my top vents. So i did some vacuum line work and eventually got air to come out the vents. By this time i was happy cuz i thought it would have blown nice cool air..WRONG still blowin hot as hell air...so i sat around for about 45 min thinkin as hard as i could about why the hell my a/c was not workin rite...then the light bulb hit...refrigerant...went and got a can filled her up and nice cold air 2 thumbs up for a working AC in Ga... haha

R-12 and 134-a NEVER go bad so guess what you'll probly be doing in the near future........ . If it leaks fix it, it gets VERY expensive putting in 134-a every week. Don't ask me how my lazy self knows

Reminds me of the time I beat my head against the wall over a simple blown fuse (heater motor)

Here's a really stupid question. How do you just go buy and can and fill it up? I thought you needed to compress it or something or have some kind of high tech gizmo to do it. ??? I also don't have A/C so i'm curious.

When car repairs and parts seem to always total at least a 100.00, a 20.00 fix always brings a smile to the face.

Yeah a cheap fix is always great, I recently had the same type of problem with my A/C.. Everyone said the compressor was out, But I went ahead and put some feon in anyways and could hear a leak.. Luckly it was on a metal hose so a quick trip to autozone, and $4 for some JB Weld and low and behold I have cold air

The little kits come with compressed coolant, fittings and a guage. Any parts store or Wal-Mart should have them. Someone above made a good point though. If it needed coolant where did it go and how did it get there?
