What is the best oil to use in my 95 Z LT1 When I bought the car a few months back The guy told me he has always run Mobile 1 synthetic 5w30 . Cuz that what it calls for. Well I have changed the oil once since than and I used Mobile 1 10w30 . I'm due again for another change. Which is best for the Lt1? 5w30 or heavier oil ? My dad who is a mechanic and has been all his life says I should run SAE30. Cuz its a thicker oil. He says the recomended oil 5w30 is way to thin to be running in such a powerful V8 motor. And to me it just doesnt seem right It seems like 5w30 is way too thin to be running in 350 V8 I mean wouldnt it break down at high temperature and not lube the engine good enough because its so thin. What do you other guys use for oil in your Lt1's Any body got any input HELP ME OUT HERE 5w30 or not ????????????
