Re: What the...........oil dip stick
I sanded mine with fine grit sandpaper so it slides in without any force.
The bolt is more than sufficiant to secure it.
If it has a kink its toast and will cost $17 at the stealerships. If its just slightly bent put it in a vice and straighten it.

I used some fine sandpaper and and sanded down the part of the dipstick tube that actually goes into the block. You can sand, check the fit, sand some more, check the fit- keep doing this until it fits easily enough.
Something I did today that you might think about also- my dipstick tube always gets in the way when changing plugs, so I sawed the tube off a few inches below where it bolts to the block. So now you have a stationary part of the tube that stays below where the head is, and a removeable section that bolts to the block that can be taken off for clearance. 11/32" hose works great to couple the bottom section to the top section.

i think im gonna try the sand paper thing first, then beating MIGHT commence.........lol, jk
i like your idea fastz.....however im not too sure i care for how u joined the two together
HOWEVER, i can see using a small tube widening tool and widening a mouth ont the part that goes to the block so u can slide a portion of the top piece into it, then bolt it to the block for a firm fit. THat would be nice, but i dont have some of the tools at this house to do that.

Re: What the...........oil dip stick
Take a pair of small vice grips, set them so that when clamped around the tube, they barely touch the dipstick tube. Slide them down to the cast-in lip where the dipstick is supposed to bottom into the block. Tap the vicegrips with the hammer so that the force is transferred from the vicegrips to the cast-in lip and that will seat the dipstick into the block.
Re: What the...........oil dip stick
mine sucked donkey ***** too, I had to keep pounding it in there. It sucks, and my hand just about had a dip stick tube permanantly imbeded in it, but I finally got it in there. It took about an hour and a half of f*ing with it to get her persuaded enough to go back in her home!
