Trust me I'm Cummins all the way, but with the front end on these it might be easier to wedge a V8 Diesel. Hell either one would be pretty cool. 500hp/1200tq is no sweat for a diesel. It would get high 30's MPG and run 11's easy.

Thanks for the responses and I think I will just build my LT1 to a 383 and have lloyd do the intake and heads for now.
Engine swaps are so commonplace that I don't know what you would really have to brag about. Try an electric motor for something really different.

BTW, I don't know what is so different about a 1997 from 93-96. On the outside they are pretty much identical.

You say time and money are not a hinderance, so you can basically do whatever you want. Go for it.

I'd be interested to see what sort of gearing setup you'd need to support that, given diesel's powerband and RPM limitations. Would four non-overdrive gears be enough?
