What is this mod? PCV/Intake

Sorry for no pictures, I have it all apart and the paint is drying.

What's the purpose of the mod whereby you plug the hole under the TB (in the intake) and loop the PCV to the next adjacent port?
Don't really care that it was done this way when I bought the intake but just want to make sure I follow through with whatever else may be required, also just nice to know the reasoning lol

not my intake but you can see the plug under the TB and the loop at the PCV on the drivers side.

Just a year-to-year variation in the stock PCV plumbing. 93/94 used the U-shaped hose for PCV vacuum, 95-97 ran a tube to the port under the throttle body. That is a 94 version. Shoebox has photo of the 95-97 setup.

Thanks! Had me worried for a second.. I even started frantically googling casting numbers thinking it may be a LT4 intake! ...It isn't
.. and good to know I don't have to do anything to make this work.
