What M6 tranny fluid to use?

What M6 tranny fluid do you guys use? Im using mobil 1 ATF right now without problems but Ive heard smoother shifts can be had with other fluids, even Honda ATF.

What do you guys use?

ATF The "manual" says Dexron-3. Why are you using ATF? I'm sure there's a reason...just curious...

I had heard something about some Honda Z something or other people here were using.

<----honda fluid, paid like 3 bucks a quart instead of 5 because they made me wait in that ghey dealership for 20 minutes.
Some kid comes up and is like "so what kind of car do you have?"
hey looked at me funny when i said "94 Formula" he was probably wondering if it was a special edition accord or something
anyway, it works great and makes the shifter nice and smooth, i imagine even better when i get that pro 5.0!

Although the Honda fluid is like $8 - $10 more for doing the manual tranny fluid, you only change the fluid every 20-30k miles that it really isn't that big a deal to pay the little extra it is.

Matt: I change mine every time the motor comes out (every year, usually) and always use a good brand of non-synth ATF. Always seemed to shift fine. Transmission lubricant is not nearly as critical as engine oil. Operating temps and are much less, contamination is not really an issue, etc. If I were in the "set and forget" mode, and planned to fill it once and leave it forever I would use synthetic.

Honda ATF-$4 a quart. The parts manager was shocked when I told her it was for a Pontiac. I asked for 4 quarts and she was like "you only need 3 for a Civic" I kinda laughed and told her what it was for, then she understood.
