What Kind of results from porting stock heads at home??
I'm seriously considering pulling my heads and porting them myself rather then buy heads. What kind of results have people seen after porting the heads on their LT1? Is there good info on the web about Tips on porting LT1 heads? I'd like to get the most power out of my stock heads as possible. What kind of cam, Throttle body, intake, injectors, etc... should I consider if I port them myself? I'm at 13.9's right now. I'd like to be pulling at least mid 12's without power adders like No2 and Chargers.
Based on your goals, I would recomend you pay someone to port your heads. Loyd can do you right for not much over $700.
The problem with porting your own heads is you have no idea weather you did a good job or trashed a set of heads until you install them (or flow them if you have access to a flow bench). I've seen home ported heads the flow excellant and heads that aren't much better than stock.
WIth professionally ported heads and a CC305 or Hot cam, your goals are well within your reach.

if your just wanting to port the heads, for the price it was faster and easier for my to mail them off to Lloyd and let him do them and i know they are professionaly done. You can screw up a set of heads if you do not know what you are doing.
Not to sound like an ***, maybe I'm assuming, but based on the questions you asked, I think you should stay as far away from your heads with a die grinder as possible.
Do a search on head porting and you'll get lots of information.
Lloyds email address is also on here easily via a search.
