The best oil is whatever gets changed on a regular basis. I just use whatever is on sale for the week

I run 5w30 Mobil 1, but I have a relativly low mileage car and some often times very cold winter weather to deal with. Many people run 10w30, which is also just fine

I use Castrol Syntec 10w40. Have changed every 2,000 miles due to hard driving and drag racing on juice. Just a peace of mind.

Another vote for Mobil 1 10W30 Synthetic. Walmart has these perfect sized 5 quart jugs of it now for around $18.

3 reasons

I never drive in very cold conditions(less than 30 degrees F)_

The higher viscosity gets me a little more cushioning on the internals and maybe slightly higher compression if things ever start to wear

It holds up well in our high temp engines

I used Mobil 1 for about 40,000 miles then switched over to Max life 10w30 at 75k... No problems, Good oil...
