What kind of shim and how thick were they? Did yours come with shims?

Thanks Shayne

nobody can tell you exactly what shims to use without messuring each spring pocket with the retainer and lock thats going to be used on that valve. and they wont all be the same either the hieght will vary from valve to vavle on the same head. if its really that important to you buy what i call a barrel mic which will tell you installed hieght basicly you just assemble the retainer and lock with the mic in place of the spring and then screw it out until its fairly tight. then shim accordingly to hit desired installed hieght. i usually buy a pack of comp shims when i do a set of springs they come in assorted sizes and they're certain diameters as well.

Shoebox used 612 springs and measured them and they came out right. They are supposed to be direct replacements - height, size etc... I never measured mine, I used the stock spring cup and retainers and locks. Everything seems to be ok but I really don't know for sure where things ended up. I am just taking my chances.
