What ignition coil to get?
Re: What ignition coil to get?
There was a thread about this awhile ago. Many people said they saw no difference between stock and aftermarket. Some even went as far as to say the aftermarket coils put too many volts through the opti, killing it faster than normal. I have had an Accell digital 300+ ingition, for a couple of years, before it shorted and took itself, igintion module, coil and the opti with it. Now I just run an Accell coil with no problems.
Re: What ignition coil to get?
i just bought part # 8231 earlier today and it took about 20 minutes to install! was there any noticeable differences afterwards, no! but it was only 50$. i dont think it would hurt to do it, but u could probably be better off spending ur money somewhere else! gl
Re: What ignition coil to get?
I felt a HUGE difference in throttle response when I put in my MSD blaster coil. My stock coil had 55,000 miles and was going bad. But definately get one if you got some miles on your stocker. They're cheap and really easy to install.
