With headers and gears you should notice a strong sotp change and several tenths lost in the quarter.

You said your friend wants to race you in his 98 GT? I hope not, cause you'll make him look stupid.

In my 94 Z with 2.73s hooker cat back and no cat, I ran a best of 14.3

After LT's and CAI I ran a best of 13.58. Next step is to get rid of these damn 2.73s... LTs and 3.73s will definitely give your car some power.

There wont be a huge difference but everylittle bit adds up. The headers will help if you decide to add some juice later. I noticed some off the line pull from the gears but not much from the headers. I got a huge bang with the. With the same mods you are talking about I raced my friends 98ta and got him off the line but he slowly creeped up and in 1/4 can edge you out. You should beat a GT though.

should i see any gains from shorties and a cutout over stock manifolds w/ cut-out? dont know if i want to spend a lot of my money on LT's so i might just go shorties. also what should i expect when i go to the track in 2 weeks (1/4mi)?

stang ran a best of 15.9
Friend is having problems w/ 96 Trans Am(opti-but runs real strong)

Most people swear by longtubes around here.
I would suggest getting longtubes over shorties unless you can't due to price/emissions/don't wanna pull half your hair out during install...- Yes you'll see a gain with shorties but not as much.

If i had to do it all over again, i would do LTs instead of shorties without a doubt

I have similar mods like Robert but went 13.34 on the 3.23's.
Im thinking of going with 4.10's as soon as I replace the crappy stock catback.

With those mods you should be in the low 13's. Depending on how well you can lauch the car.

I did slp shorties (stock y pipe) and borla at the same time and noticed a huge difference in power. Probably good 30rwhp.

WHen i put in a cc305 cam i still had the shorties.. Then when i went with long tubes and high flow cats i gained 2mph over the SLP shorties.. so that was about 20rwhp from going to long tubes with a cam.

Headers are a great mod. I gained an assload over those restrictive manifolds.. Once you pull them off and look at them, you will know why everyone loves headers on the LT1.

If you can do longtubes, do it. If you are looking for some inexpensive long tubes definately go with the pacesetters. Cant wait to get mine to the track

guess im saving for longtubes(probably till next summer) but im getting gears till after the headers. you guys think i can go low 13's on some M/T sportsman pros, cuz my bros got a set of them on some stock salad shooters? i cut some 2.0x's on stock bald bfg's on my other t/a, so what 60 ft's should i see w/ drag radials?
