i jus looked at it again and its spliced into the fan relay.

 

If i had to guess, i'd say its used to change the temperature at which the fans turn on. Just a guess!

 

kind of looks like something that could be used to set when the fans turn on or something like that.

 

then wouldnt it be spliced into the temp sensor? or does the temp sensor and fan run through the same system?

 

The temp sensor voltage is used by the PCM to turn the fans on and off according to the programmed temperatures. The PCM does this thru the relays. Your temp switch seems to be wired in order to override the PCM.

 

Never Seen one of those. I'd take it off...carefully.
