what happens when the TPS sensor is bad?
what happens when the TPS sensor is bad?
i have been having a high idle problem, what are the common symptoms of a faulty TPS SENSOR, im thinking that may be why my car is idleing high and droping back to normal after about 10 seconds of idleing up near 2200-2300 rpm then it will drop back to normal idle.. thanks guys
Re: what happens when the TPS sensor is bad?
the tps doesn't usually disrupt idle quality, in most cases you will notice problems accelerating. the tps sensor tells the computer what you are doing with the gas pedal, if you are having trouble with your idle you may want to check the iac position and how it is acting. check this with a scan tool. also pull your codes.
yeah, take out your iac and clean it with some carb cleaner. shoebox has the location and such on his tech page. search for shoebox and that should help you out. let us know if that was your problem.
