I pulled into work today and noticed that smoke was coming out the side fo the car (not a lot) but there wasn't a smell. So I pulled in a parking spot and looked under the car.

It's a dark fluid with a somewhat red/purple color. I assume it's tranny fluid, but I checked the level (hot) and it was still normal. I lost enough fluid to cover a square foot of the ground, probably more now. It is leaking from the back part of the engine about level with the end of the collecter on my long tubes. Are any other fluids that color?

Any ideas, and any ideas on cause?

 

My guess would be tranny fluid considering its red

 

It tastes like strawberrys and creame. I thought it had a chocolate like after taste, but I could be wrong.

Lol...didn't taste it, and the smell is hard to describe.

Is auto tranny fluid really thin? I'm 95% sure it's tranny fluid, and I guess that means I get to either call FLP or throw the 6spd in.

 

The only red fluid i've ever seen is tranny fluid

 

My Blazer drips a strange red fluid sometimes, but it's usually just some sort of small animal/child that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If thats not the case in your situation, I'd suspect the tranny.
