what engine block is stock for lt1

I have a friend that has 2 350 blocks that are in great shape and I am wondering if I can use one of them or if it has to be specific for the 4th gen lt1. He said he one has a 2 piece rear main seal and the other is 1 piece. Now that didn't mean too much to me because I don't know much about this yet but I am trying to learn

Thanks

Brian

the reverse cooling system of the LT1 makes the block and heads specific to the LT1.

An LT1 block is refered to as a "Gen 2" small block Chevy. In addition to the cooling difference, the entire front of the block is different to accomodate the OptiSpark distributor and gear driven water pump. The blocks are not interchangeable with the Gen 1 SBC's.

The LT1 block is casting # 10125327, and is identified by the "327" cast into it.
