What driveshaft?

What driveshaft?

got under my friends 94 z today and noticed his DS was black! not a dirty black but a clean black. mine is stock and rust colored and so are all the others ive seen. what does he have??

Umm, you could like ask him, maybe? Most aftermarket steel shafts are painted. Usually black. Mine (Denny's "Nitrous Ready") is.

Could be anything. Even a painted black stock driveshaft. Even with the 1LE, 1LS you can't tell just by looking at them. Can you see any part numbers anywhere?

Actually the 1LE is a bit larger than the stock steel LT1 shaft. I just replaced it last week with the 1LE. Also, the stock LT1 shaft has a circular plate where the u-joint by the tranny is (front joint) whereas the 1LE shaft doesn't have that circular plate.

It's hard to say. My Spohn came black, but it had a logo on it. Measure the diameter of it...might give you a little better idea.

A driveshaft is a driveshaft...the u-joints are more important to me.
