i have been reading alot about the lt1 trying to get the most info and getting pepared for installing a cam. then i came across guys talking about valve springs maby you guys can clear some of this up for me.

when i find a cam kit like the hot cam or somthing from cmotorsports do i just slap the springs on and set the valve lash or do i have set and test valve height, coil bind ,seat pressure? if so how go i do this? do i need to get some spesialty tools like a barrel mic.?

thanks guys i'm in the dark with doin the cam install myself and i want to be clear about every thing before i order a cam

If the spring came with the kit you should be fine. Its when you buy a spring "you think will work" or if your unsure what spring it actually is that you would want to measure everything.

I always test my springs. Seat pressure, coil bind, installed height, etc. I've come to find out that what a company says, isn't always exactly true.
