What does this wire go to? Connector.....

Alright, not sure where this connector goes but here is a picture of it, its under the steering column by the pedals. Not sure where to put it. If anyone has a pic of where it goes and to what it goes to, that would help. Thanks

Tan and black wire with white 2 pin connector i think.

well its not brake lights for sure, thats a similar connector but black instead of white. I have looked and there is no open place to plug it in. Vats is working fine so dont see how that could be it. Nuetral safety switch works good too......... confused.

I happen to have my car torn apart under there so I went and looked. I seem to have the same disconnected plug. Its a smaller plug, about 1/4 inch across with something like 18 or so gauge wire right? If I follow it up, its in the same wire bundle as the brake light switch.

If I had to guess, its probably something for an A4, and is not used on an M6. Isn't there a circuit to the A4 to tell it your foot is on the brake so you can shift into gear?

Isn't there a switch on the clutch that releases the cruise control when you push down the clutch? Can't go check it, because somehow my clutch pedal seems to have disappeared . But I thought there were two switches on the clutch.... on for the start interlock and one for the cruise release.

I believe so.

Way back when I did my gauges I noticed it hanging there under the dash and not connected to anything. Tried to trace it back but it just gets lost in the rest of the wires.

My battery is out of my car right now while it is worked on, but maybe someone can turn their car on and check both sides of the connector with a multimeter to see if it gets any voltage or is just a dead factory connection .
