What do you have to do to get rid of traction control?

I'm in the process of changing things in my car to get ready to drop in a new motor with a blower. I already did an OBD-I conversion and deleted the EGR and air pump. The next thing I want to do is scrap the traction control. I don't drive my car in the rain or winter so it is worthless to me. What all is involved with removing that system (electronics and hardware)?

I want to remove everything, especially the wad of crap that sits on the left side of the intake. I'm pretty sure there is more involved than just pulling a relay.

Did it, and kept ABS.

DISCLAIMER: I have not yet triggered ABS while driving, so I am not sure if it works without the rear proportioning valve under the EBCM's control... but I haven't had problems yet. IF YOU KILL YOURSELF BECAUSE OF THIS, IT'S NOT MY FAULT.

Hey trax, did you have to replace your throttle cable and cruise control cable also?

I asked about this a while back. I HATE that ugly bulky box sitting on top of my valve cover. I want it off so bad. I believe you do have to replace the throttle cable. Just buy one for a LT1 that didnt come with the traction control setup. I will be removing mine soon.

Trax, how bout a little test of your ABS to see if you still have it? That would make a lot of people consider doing this i think, if they know they can keep their ABS while still getting rid of the traction control.

It could just be that the bulb is burned out. Are you sure when you turn it off, that it is off?

yea, it was wet outside and I tried going sideways with the LED light on (meaning it's on) and it wouldn't let me. Turned it off and got the car real sideways.
