Well, it loses the restriction of the stock airbox, but its not going to draw in "cold" air in from the fenderwell.... So, you're not really going to see the same results as from something from K&N, or SLP. If you're looking to go cheap, you'd probably get better results with a homemade cold air intake.

 

Don't be cheap, that is not going to give you any gains. It is just a pipe and filter from autozone.
